2nd level Postgraduate Master’s Program: Visual Programming Language in the Design of a Covered Market in Georgetown”

The concept design was developed using 3d modeling platforms Rhinoceros and Grasshopper, which allowed to parameterize the model in order to quickly explore and evaluate a considerable amount of design alternatives.
Once completed the first phase of geometric modeling follows a preliminary energy modeling of the building with the tools use of Honeybee & Ladybud, which connects the model to the Open Studio / Energy Plus / Radiance platforms.
This step allows us to have a concept design perfectly inserted in the environmental system in which it is located and modeled according to aesthetic / formal / functional / environmental evaluations. The final concept design is inserted in the BIM authoring platform of Autodesk, Revit, through the use of the VPL Dynamo platform, thanks to the Rhynamo component, developed by Nathan Miller ( Proving Ground, form. CASE)

The case study used in this thesis concerns a project carried out by the architectural firm Rossiprodi Associati s.r.l. and relates to the preliminary design of three structures located in Georgetown, Guyana.

Once the concept design is finished we have to insert the architectural model created inside the
BIM environment, this is a quite delicate step,
you run the risk of losing information or repeating some processes.
To transfer the concept design inside the Revit
platform we bypass this process through Dynamo, where we can establish a direct link with Rhinoceros through Rhynamo, which directly reads the created .3dm file and allows us to transfer the geometrical data but also the non-geometrical data inserted inside the geometries themselves through Elefront (gh add-on).
