The project for the new campus of the University of Ferrara is part of the wider Recovery Plan for the
Arcispedale S.Anna/area San Rocco complex in the historic centre of Ferrara. In accordance with the provisions of the plan and following the removal of the existing incongruous buildings, a large building for teaching purposes, called BUILDING A, will be built to the west, and a building for research laboratories, called BUILDING B, to the east, which will be flanked
by a multi-storey car park, called BUILDING C, to
meet the standards of the area. The intervention area is centred on the wide tree-lined avenue overlooked by the new university buildings. The project layout, in accordance with the provisions of the PdR, aims to harmonise and rationalise the alignment of the new volumes with the existing buildings, giving centrality to the design of the open spaces and aiming to expand the road network in the area in a cycling and
pedestrian sense, with the creation of new squares, tree-lined paths and cycle paths.
